Acceptable Use Policy

Marlo is a private space for your own reflection. This policy sets the small number of limits that keep it safe and lawful for everyone. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Do not use Marlo to

Break the law. Anything illegal where you are, or where we operate.

Harm other people. Harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or impersonate someone. Record a person without the consent their local law requires. Share someone else's private information without their permission.

Endanger children. Any sexual content involving minors, or any attempt to exploit or groom a child, is prohibited absolutely, will be reported to the authorities, and results in immediate permanent termination.

Infringe rights. Upload or share content you do not have the right to use, including copyrighted material belonging to someone else.

Attack the service. Probe, scan, or test the security of our systems without written permission; circumvent authentication, rate limits, or usage quotas; attempt to access another user's account or data; introduce malware; or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

Abuse the AI features. Attempt to extract system prompts or model credentials, use the Service to generate content that violates our providers' policies, or use automated means to bulk-generate content beyond normal personal use.

Resell or misrepresent. Rent, resell, or sublicense the Service, use it to build a competing product, or present its AI output as professional medical, legal, or financial advice to others.

A note on your own content

This policy is about conduct that affects other people or our systems. It is not a content standard for your own private journal. Journaling honestly about difficult, dark, or painful things is exactly what Marlo is for, and we do not police the contents of your private entries.

Reporting a problem

To report abuse, a security vulnerability, or content that infringes your rights, email support@marlojournal.com. For copyright claims, include the material at issue, your contact details, and a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.

Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content, suspend features, or terminate your account. We aim to be proportionate, and where we can we will tell you what happened and let you export your data. Illegal activity may be reported to law enforcement.
